One of the most fascinating cities of Germany is the ancient city of Augsburg.Founded in the year 15 B.C. by Tiberius who would later rule as Caesar during Jesus lifetime, it was named in honour of Emperor Octavius Caesar "Augustus". It may very well be the site of the first Apostolic Church on the other side of the Alps. Augsburg has been the center of a great deal of religious history including serving as the center of much of the Reformation in Germany. It was here in 1518 that Cardinal Cajetan was sent from Rome to examine Martin Luther on heresy charges. Later the Treaty of Augsburg ending the great war between the Protestants and Catholics was signed here giving Protestants the right to worship free of Catholic control.Augsburg, Germany's fastest growing Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
